Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coder - Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures for outpatient medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems
• Meet productivity and quality standards while adhering to regulatory requirements
• Utilize electronic medical records extensively in the coding process

Required Qualifications and Education

• Associate's degree in health information technology; Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology
• Maintain certification in RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, or COC, fulfilling continuing education requirements
• Prior coding classification education and previous hospital coding experience highly desirable
• Familiarity with computer and/or encoder software is desirable
