As we continue to grow, we currently have a tremendous opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who is up for the challenge.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work alongside our Cardiac Stress Technician at our client facility. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, the NMT is responsible for daily operations of the PET camera to obtain high quality images based on clinical protocols as directed by our on-site physicians. You will perform patient care during the PET scan as well as be responsible for the Rb-82 isotope dose administration, maintaining the hot lab, ensuring that patient imaging and all clinical procedures are performed with high standards, while ensuring compliance with all State, OSHA and other regulations at all times.

We are currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work under the direction of a physician and perform a full range of nuclear imaging for our Mobile Cardiac Imaging Program. Regular local travel is required, including occasional overnight stays. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist would be reimbursed for all gas mileage incurred for travel, and hotel accommodations would be paid for by Cardiac Imaging, Inc., as well as per diem to cover food expenses.

Travel required within the Central Region.

Essential Functions:

• Safely administers/handles radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive pharmaceuticals to perform Nuclear Medicine/PET exams and procedures according to established protocols and regulations to provide quality images and patient care in a timely manner.
• Obtain patient history, answer questions and provide the patient with information about the exam/procedures so he/she is comfortable and thoroughly understands the process.
• Accountable for protecting patients’ and coworker’s privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI).
• Work with the cardiologists, referring clinics and patients to ensure the exam is appropriate and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam/procedure.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the reading physician, referring clinic and patient’s medical record.
• Perform camera and equipment maintenance and quality control.
• Complies with regulations, accreditation standards, clinic/hospital policies, and radiation safety.
• Maintain competency through continued education involving Nuclear Medicine, PET/Nuclear Cardiology on a regular basis.
• Incorporate and demonstrate company values and core competencies (patient focus, problem solving, adaptability, action oriented, integrity and trust, interpersonal savvy, productivity, attendance, and patient safety) into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, training new employees, ordering/stocking supplies, and assisting in other departments.

• Visual Acuity – The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an approved program
• Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state certification, as applicable; applicable certification is required and must be maintained
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and must be maintained
• Nuclear Cardiology experience preferred
• Recent graduates welcome

Skills:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Practice Management Systems experience 
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional manner and in a team-oriented environment 
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing 
• Strong problem-solving skills 
• Approachable and confident bedside manner 
• Ability to learn company policies and adhere to them in the performance of all assigned duties and communicate any compliance deviations to management in a timely manner 
• Travel required within the Central Region.
