AI Innovation Manager

Bully Pulpit International is an outcomes agency made up of strategists, data scientists, and artists. We come from politics, brands, and government and we communicate without barriers and measure what matters. BPI specializes in public affairs, corporate reputation and social impact. A growing firm, we sit on both coasts and between and connect Silicon Valley technology, Madison Avenue creative, Washington policy and real people.

The Impact You Will Make

We are looking for an AI Innovation Manager.
In this role, you’ll be the primary project manager and internal evangelist for AI tools and approaches at the agency. Working with agency leadership, you’ll identify the highest-impact opportunities for AI deployment, evaluate new tools and technologies, develop implementation plans, lead training programs, and measure adoption + success.

The ideal candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is a thinker, doer, and teacher. You’ll tackle new problems, tools, and approaches for the first time across many disciplines – and will need to develop scalable approaches to train others to do so. This requires a mix of theory and practice – you should be just as comfortable debating prompt engineering strategies as you are running an upskilling program across teams.

This position involves substantial lateral management across agency-wide projects. You should be a leader who enjoys building consensus and creating demand for new offerings and services.

  • Salary Range: $105,000 - $145,000
  • Expectation to work from one of our offices (Chicago, DC, NYC, SF, LA) at least 3 days a week

What Day-to-Day Looks Like

  • Assess agency workflows and client needs to identify the highest impact opportunities for AI implementation
  • Coordinate and execute a comprehensive AI integration roadmap across agency departments
  • Build pilot programs and proof-of-concepts to explore the value of AI for new use-cases and develop evaluation mechanisms to measure effectiveness
  • Develop training programs and resources to upskill the full agency on AI capabilities and applications
  • Create demand for AI tools through effective internal communications programs
  • Track, measure, and optimize the adoption, impact, and ROI of AI implementations
  • Collaborate with Product + Engineering teams to integrate projects with BPI’s tech stack
  • Coordinate with IT + Legal teams to develop and implement security + privacy guidelines
  • Stay on the cutting edge of AI applications for marketing, communications, and professional services firms and share digestible updates on the state-of-the-art with the company

What You Bring

  • Excitement for the transformative power of AI. You’re regularly tinkering with a new tool
  • Intellectually curious with a strong sense of data intuition and critical thinking. You think in first principles and can spot a discrepancy in a platform or dataset a mile away
  • Experience with a broad range of AI applications. You've built a personal knowledge base, experimented with multi-agent orchestration systems, have a wishlist for future MCPs, and can weigh the tradeoffs of video + image generation tools
  • Demonstrated history of using AI to create new workflows, drive efficiency, and improve business outcomes
  • Familiarity with issues around responsible deployment of AI, including data security, privacy, and bias
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong consensus building + project management skills
  • 6+ years experience in marketing, communications, data analytics, or creative technology

Applications without cover letters will not be considered. We are looking to learn more about your skillset and experience with AI and why you are the best candidate for this role.

BPI offers a wide range of benefits to U.S.-based employees, including 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program with employer match up to 4%, generous time off for vacation, $50 monthly phone reimbursement, unlimited sick time, and 16 weeks of paid leave for new parents. BPI’s benefits prioritize employee wellness and progressive support to our diverse workforce.

BPI offers a comprehensive total compensation package for this role to include but not limited to a targeted base salary range of $125,000 - $140,000, an annual discretionary bonus, and generous benefits. Actual base and bonus compensation will be determined by a wide variety of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and other qualifications.
