Social Media Coordinator

Breakaway is a fast-growing music and entertainment company in search of a highly motivated Social Media Coordinator to support the development and execution of all Breakaway Music Festival marketing promotions and activations.

This role will work across Marketing & Promotional functions, and cross-departmentally, to grow the Breakaway brand and captivate new and diverse audiences.

Responsibilities include supporting the ideation and strategy of relevant marketing campaigns, developing weekly social media reports, scheduling and producing content, copywriting, and staying up-to-date on newest platforms, trends, and techniques.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, creative individual with a passion for music, festivals, live concerts, and activation campaigning. This individual is responsible for connecting with past, current, and future consumers, with the goal of turning fans into customers and customers into ambassadors. Ultimately turning Breakaway into a content suite that places the brand as a driver of culture, not just a ticket sales mechanism.

The Social Media Coordinator will report to the Social Media Director and will work closely with all members of the marketing and media team.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of Social Media Marketing plans for brand and all national festivals collaborating closely with internal cross-departmental teams
  • Maintain social media calendar and ensure short- and long-term planning is clear with integrated communication to internal team members
  • Manage & implement posting schedule across key social platforms to maintain an active & robust presence
  • Travel to festival locations capturing and posting real-time content including but not limited to general event coverage, artist features, brand partnerships, and activation segments to align with the overarching Marketing & Social strategy
  • Proactively engage consumers online to drive favorable brand conversations and community manage
  • Responsible for assisting in branded social content, including brainstorms and content creation
  • Create and edit content for all current and future social channels
  • Develop and execute contests and sweepstakes around key selling periods, promotions, and events
  • Monitor community discussions and consolidate top-level findings and insights for senior management team
  • Explore, identify and stay ahead of new social opportunities, trends, channels and innovations in order to proactively direct current and future opportunities
  • Oversee and manage multiple project plans and deadlines to ensure all initiatives launch in a timely manner
  • Collect, analyze, and insightfully report campaign and event performances, providing insights and recommendations for future best practices

Qualifications

  • Social media or marketing internship experience preferably in a related field such as music, entertainment, or media
  • Knowledge of the music industry, and our Breakaway consumer/fan preferred
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to
    demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
  • Interpersonal skills – listens to others, works well in a team environment with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills including written/copy editing and verbal; ability to present ideas
    clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Can prioritize work activities, use time efficiently, and confidently meet deadlines for quick-turn projects
  • Adaptability – adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and
    handle frequent changes
  • Dependability – consistently at work when expected, follows instructions, responds to manager’s
    instructions
  • Strong computer skills – including all Microsoft Office software programs and some proficiency
    with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays
