Arsenal Bio is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Materials Technician reporting into the Materials Management department. Materials Technician under supervision will perform efficient warehouse operation duties to support Manufacturing operations. This includes the receipt and inspection, storage, wipe down and issuance of kitted and non-kitted GMP materials used in production and final product shipping/distribution to our customers. Other responsibilities included performing data entry into various business systems, databases and paper records ensuring department compliance with policies and procedures. This is a pivotal and highly visible role that engages with local operations, functions and extended leadership teams on a regular basis.



WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Receive GMP and R&D raw materials.
  • Pull, pick, kit, pack, transport and deliver materials & equipment to customers.
  • Pack and ship customer R&D and GMP sample materials. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory, expiration, and retest records.
  • Understand and navigate electronic and computerized systems related to Materials Management, including but not limited to calculators, scanners, inventory & receiving systems, and spreadsheets. 
  • Monitor inventory area to ensure optimum replenishment of Kanban materials. 
  • Perform and record inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Assist in performing root-cause analysis and improvement of warehouse issues. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform all work activities in a safe and compliant manner as delineated by ArsenalBio policies, procedures, and verbal instructions.
  • Adhere to company safety requirements specifically in commercial manufacturing and laboratory environments. 
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers in a professional manner. 
  • Work in a cleanroom environment that requires ISO 7 gowning.
  • Cross-train and work in other operational areas such as laboratory, facilities, and manufacturing to meet ArsenalBio’s business needs. 
  • Provide consistent attention-to-detail and good organizational skills that result in our customer’s operational and business success.
  • Provide self-managed task execution.
  • Respectfully negotiate conflict resolution with others.
  • Promotes an environment of process improvement and solution creativity to enhance Supply Chain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain DOT & IATA certifications and execute shipment preparation using DOT & IATA method.
  • Access ArsenalBio business systems and input data with 100% accuracy including  decommissioning of materials, material destruction, site-to-site movements, and other non-routine ERP transactions.
  • Conform to all Good Documentation Practices when working at ArsenalBio, i.e. perform clear, legible written data and information entries on forms and logbooks. 
  • Use manual labor, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if qualified) to move product and R&D supplies to and from storage locations and delivery trucks to company end-users. 
  • Assist Materials Management colleagues in conducting 5S/6S projects.
  • Assist other ArsenalBio departments with additional duties as assigned.
  • Acquire all GMP Materials Specialist job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks within the first twelve months of employment at ArsenalBio.


WHO YOU ARE
  • 3+ years of Materials Management experience in the biopharma industry or in a related field within a GMP facility equivalent type experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED certificate and ≥2-year industry experience; partial AA/AS preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license + clean driving record.
  • In-depth understanding of GMP principles and the ability to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  • Working directly with our customer-base, receive, store, kit, distribute, and ship R&D and manufacturing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed verbal and written instruction.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, desktop applications, and business operations software applications.
  • Flexibility in assignments and able to work over-time, holidays, weekends, and different shifts and sites as required to meet business and customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute work appropriately with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in carrying out Materials Management projects provided by supervisory colleagues. 
  • Working knowledge of the following: 
- Quality management systems such as deviations, change control, and corrective-preventive actions.
- Lean principles & practices.
- Cell therapy manufacturing is preferred.
- Personalized health care environment preferred.
  • Proven mathematical skills not using a calculator: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  (Candidate will be tested.)
  • Proven consistent Good Documentation Practices (GDP) with physical documents and computer system input.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sit, stand, and walk for a minimum of eight (8) hours with standard rest breaks and a meal break. 
  • Bend at the waist, kneel, and crouch in order to access, lift, obtain, and put away materials used within commercial manufacturing space and R&D laboratories. 
  • Repeatedly lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds throughout an eight (8) work shift.

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $30.10/hour - $36.88/hour. Salary ranges for other locations may vary.  Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
