ABOUT THE TEAM 

Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations.

As our Maritime team continues to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated candidates that are inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team that is passionate about subsea robotics and exploring the open ocean. ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join our rapidly growing team in Quonset, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for work on cutting-edge technology aimed at advancing the state-of-the-possible in subsea robotics. You will play a key role in delivering our AUVs to our customers by working hands-on with our engineering team on a multi-disciplinary environment to scale our AUV production globally. This will require hands-on work on hardware in a number of areas: composite and metallic structural fabrication and integration, electronic component fabrication & install onto structures, and software loading and full system checkouts.

Please note: This role will be based in our Quincy, MA location until Q4 of 2025. Following this period, the successful candidate will be expected to work out of our new Quonset, RI facility. Based on eligibility, relocation assistance may be available.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • The Lead Manufacturing Technician will report to the Production Manager and work alongside other Manufacturing Technicians, leading technician staff in the production and delivery of Vehicles through testing
  • Build a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes product knowledge, skills development, and cross-training
  • Apply a higher level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair when executing manufacturing operations
  • Prioritize work activities for operators to achieve target on time delivery goals. Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines. Ensure they are working on the right thing at the right time
  • Ability to work on the line, provide training, and support new operator onboarding as required
  • Be an active participant in 5S and continuous improvement activities. Provide feedback on ways to improve building process
  • Complete transactions in digital production systems (MES, NetSuite, JIRA) on daily basis
  • Show up every day with a high level of urgency and enthusiasm to get the job done
  • Perform additional tasks in support of business objectives and/or to develop team members' skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3+ years of experience in production-oriented robotics and or electro-mechanical technician fields
  • A full understanding of the product life cycle (NPI to scaled production) and LEAN manufacturing methods
  • Experience interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics, electrical diagrams, etc.)
  • Extremely reliable, organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs pounds regularly
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of operational leadership experience, leading a production team
  • Experience working with ERP and MES systems
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws
  • Experience working with high-voltage electrical components (up to 400VDc)
  • Experience performing functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes
  • Experience in sub-sea robotics or AUV industries
  • A self-motivated, self-disciplined individual is the ideal candidate for this position
US Hourly Range
$36.53$54.81 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
