General Manager (Cal Tech PM, an Aldinger Co)

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to join our Cal Tech Process Management business unit. 

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations within our Cal Tech Process Management calibration branch, ensuring strategic direction, driving business growth & profitability, and upholding high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include assigning and directing work across all operational areas, managing staff, and fostering a positive work environment while ensuring customer satisfaction. 

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and a commitment to expanding and enhancing the business through strategies that increase productivity and facilitate growth. 

This P&L owner's role is pivotal in creating and fostering a positive work environment, building strong client relationships, and guiding our team toward achieving business objectives. This exempt position reports to the COO of Accredited Labs. 

Location: On-site at the lab in Beavercreek, OH with occasional customer visits to field locations 

Day to Day Responsibilities: 

  • Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless calibration activities, resource optimization, and compliance with industry standards. 
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, training, and positive engagement. 
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. 
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control procedures, audit calibration processes, and maintain adherence to quality standards. 
  • Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborate with sales teams, and develop strategies to expand our customer base and services. 
  • Financial Management: Oversee branch financials, including budgeting, P&L management, and financial planning, to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment, implement safety protocols, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in calibration services, utilizing the latest technology and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency. 
  • Training Support: Partner with our central Quality Management team to identify and bridge training gaps, ensuring technicians are proficient and workload is balanced. Promote continuous learning and skill enhancement among staff. 
  • Vehicle and Resource Management: Oversee the maintenance and readiness of all calibration tools, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring technicians have the necessary resources for optimal job performance. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5 years management experience  
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and drive accountability with talent. 
  • Proven track record in operational management within the calibration or similarly technical field. 
  • Excellent client relationship skills with the ability to address client needs effectively. 
  • Strategic thinker with solid business acumen, financial management capabilities, and the ability to drive growth. 
  • Demonstrated success in transforming operations with data-driven decision-making and implementation of technology tools. 
  • Effective communicator, with innate ability to become proficient in calibration software and tools. 
  • Proven experience managing budgets and financial operations. 
  • Ability to be on-site at the lab in Beavercreek, OH with occasional customer visits to field locations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field preferred, with relevant professional certifications being an advantage. 
  • In-depth knowledge of calibration standards, quality assurance practices, and industry regulations is a bonus but is not necessary to be successful in this role.
