Field Engineering Roles will be full-time paid internships* with possible dates of:

- January - August 2025 [exact dates TBD]

- May - August 2025 [exact dates TBD - with paid training dates in Mid-April 2025]


*Willing to sign off for school credit where applicable.

As a Field Engineering Co-Op, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our robotic systems operate flawlessly and help transform farming practices. Your responsibilities will include everything from deploying and maintaining our robotic equipment to training our seasonal field operators and designing essential tools for field service operations. You'll also take on the role of technical lead, providing expertise and guidance to our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Robotic Equipment: Take the lead in deploying, modifying, repairing, testing, and upgrading both the software and hardware of our robotic equipment to maximize its performance and efficiency.
  • Enable & Support Robot Operations: Be ready to provide support for field issues during the 2025 growing season, demonstrating a commitment to the success of our operations.
  • Assist in Field Service Office/Warehouse Operations: Be part of the operational team for our field service office/warehouse, ensuring it is well-equipped and well-managed.
  • Design and Build Mobile Support Units: Play a key role in designing and building Mobile Support Units, which are essential for maintaining field operations.
  • Assist in Training Seasonal Robot Operators: Collaborate with our team to train seasonal Robot Operators in the proper use and maintenance of our robotic equipment.
  • Maintain a Collaborative and Innovative Environment: Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team, promoting creative problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Design, Select, and Install Tooling: Take charge of designing, selecting, and installing tooling for field service operations to ensure optimal functionality.
  • React Productively to Changing Priorities: Adapt quickly to changing priorities, especially in response to robot breakdowns, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement programs and projects aimed at enhancing Aigen's future deployments.
  • Test New Hardware/Software: Conduct testing of new hardware and software to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.


Requirements:
  • Strong technical background in Mechanical-, Electrical-, or Software Engineering; or in Agricultural Engineering or Agronomy.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and understanding assembly instructions and engineering documentation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of farming practices is a significant plus.
  • Willingness to work outdoors for 10 hour shifts.
