We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to manage our end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing and revenue recognition processes. This role requires a deep understanding of Zello’s customer management and accounting systems, as well as the ability to document and implement consistent, scalable policies. The Revenue Accountant will also work directly with clients, resolving billing inquiries and assisting with collections as needed.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with subscription software billing systems and procedures. Excels at working cross-functionally to implement repeatable processes that enhance the customer experience while streamlining internal workflows.

While we are headquartered in Austin, Texas, this position is open to remote candidates. For local candidates, we offer a hybrid office arrangement with flexible hours.

Our process (subject to change!): Video conversation with Recruiter, video conversation with COO, on-site interviews with SVP of RevOps, VP of Customer Success, Director of Business Development and COO, Reference Check and then Offer.


What you’ll do:

Order-to-Cash Process Management:

  • Accountable for the comprehensive understanding of the SaaS revenue cycle, from order placement through payment collection.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, Data, Product and Engineering) to optimize processes and adjust how our systems interact, as needed.

Billing Operations:

  • Generate, review, and ensure accuracy of customer invoices.

  • Manage subscription billing cycles, proration, and adjustments in line with contract terms.

Customer Support:

  • Resolve billing tickets and address customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Collect outstanding receivables, as needed.

  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to address complex issues.

System Expertise:

  • Leverage the company’s billing, CRM, and ERP tools to manage transactions and troubleshoot system issues.

  • Recommend and assist in implementing system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure billing practices comply with GAAP and SaaS-specific revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606).

  • Assist in monthly and quarterly financial closes, particularly revenue-related entries and reconciliations.

  • Responsible for managing sales tax compliance for the United States and Canada, and other countries as needed.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, billing, or revenue operations in a SaaS environment.

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (e.g., ASC 606).

  • Proficiency in accounting and billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, Chargebee). Zuora is preferred, but not required.

  • CPA is preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
