About the Working Families Party
The Working Families Party (WFP) is the progressive party for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that works for the many, not the few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.
We believe that no matter where we come from or what our color, most of us want the same things. We want to earn enough to thrive, not just survive, and leave a better future for our kids. We want healthy food and clean water, safe neighborhoods and a safe world. We want to be free.
The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all.
The role of Election Captain Coordinator is key for building a base and to mobilize our members, supporters and community organizations around issues, our theory of change and our electoral campaigns.
The Election Captain Coordinator develops deep and lasting relationships with members and supporters by doing one-on-ones and by executing mobilizing strategies set up and envisioned by leadership. The coordinator communicates efficiently and effectively with other staff while maintaining tracking data about our growing membership base.
As part of the organizing team, the Election Captain coordinator works closely with staff and other colleagues to connect our growing grassroots bases with the day-to-day strategic goals of PA-WFP.
The Working Families Party is seeking an Election Captain Coordinator to lead a community-driven operation, consisting of identifying residents across targeted districts, integrating them seamlessly into our ongoing organizing efforts, and providing skill-building opportunities through comprehensive training sessions. The chosen candidate will play an essential role in implementing a comprehensive plan aimed at supporting Working Families Party-endorsed candidates across the city. This full-time position requires the ability to readily mobilize to different areas of Philadelphia regularly, contributing to the party's broader mission of advocating for the interests of working families in the upcoming electoral landscape. This strategic approach aims to culminate in a robust election day operation, wherein Election Captains take an active role in staffing their respective polling locations.
