1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of financial statement preparation both under IFRS, US GAAP and Local GAAP including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, prepaids and deferrals.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations on monthly and quarterly basis.
Prepare accounting package for outsourcing firms.
Assist in the preparation of regional quarterly tax provision packages.
Create, maintain and generate financial reports in support of Accounting and Operation Support teams.
Manage Controllership POs in Ariba.
Coordinate monthly intercompany settlement cash requests.
Assist with tax compliance deliverables and ensure tax compliance obligations are properly and timely reported.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable team.
Participation in special projects. Identify any potential financial related risk areas and provide sound recommendations and solutions to Visa for mitigation of the identified risk.
Handle adhoc projects as assigned by the Management.
2. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Meet accounting deadlines for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close. Quality of accounting records compliant with corporate policies, GAAP, SEC and SOX. Accurate accounting of transactions. leading to minimum accounting adjustments/errors and no repeat-audit points. Unusual items are properly identified, surfaced and resolved promptly
Timely provision of reports by agreed timelines.
Ability to define, solve end to end problems and issues, timely and accurate processing of data, information through the systems.
Receive minimal observations and non material adjustments from internal and external auditors.
Deliver on time sufficient information to outsourcing firm for statutory accounting.
Compliance with statutory requirements for Hub and foreign locations.
Timely and accurate tax compliance reporting.
Good understanding of process workflow so as to define, solve problems and issues.
Excellent project management skills to drive various projects to completion with minimal supervision.
3. DECISION MAKING
Make decisions on appropriate accounting treatment for transactions in compliance with published policies and guidelines.
Interprets a range of policies & procedures and develops regional procedures, standards, processes to assess, report, and remediate operations risk and compliance-related issues.
Prioritize tasks within job function balancing the need to meet tight deadlines and other corporate demands.
Initiate and implement process changes within assigned function to improve work productivity or quality of work output.
Exercise good judge to escalate issues to Supervisor.
4. DIMENSIONS
Interacts with global, regional and in-country Controllership, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Finance teams.
Collaborates with regional function leaders (e.g., Business Development, Acceptance, Product, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Services).
Expected to demonstrate independent decision-making and judgment, and lead issue resolution.Support the monitoring and review of Compliance to statutory and accounting regulations of multiple countries in LAC.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Basic Qualification
•3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
•Degree in Accounting or equivalent
•Knowledge of US GAAP
•Strong understanding of accounting controls and tax issues as applicable to
local standards as well as under US GAAP.
•Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred.
