Senior Mechanical Engineer

At Vessel, we are committed to addressing one of the world’s most pressing challenges—the global housing crisis. In 2024, we introduced the V1, a revolutionary solution that redefines affordable living. Beautifully designed, brilliantly engineered, sustainable, and built with health in mind, the V1 makes high-quality housing accessible to those who earn too much for subsidized housing but too little for market-rate options. We are backed by leading venture capitalists, such as Mosaic Ventures, and by the nation's preeminent homebuilder, Lennar, Inc.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing our next-generation housing platform. You’ll work at the cutting edge of product design, advanced manufacturing, and building technology, applying your expertise to create elegant, high-performance solutions that redefine what’s possible in the built environment.

What You'll Do
  • Engineer solutions that are precise, scalable, and manufacturable, pushing the limits of what’s possible in building technology
  • Apply thermal, structural, and mechanical design expertise to create systems that are both powerful and efficient
  • Work hands-on with prototyping, testing, and validation, ensuring performance, durability, and safety at every stage
  • Collaborate with industrial designers, architects, and manufacturing experts to integrate engineering with form and function seamlessly
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge materials and production methods, from aerospace-inspired composites to next-gen fabrication techniques

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a track record of launching real, physical products into production
  • A deep passion for innovation and a drive to create systems that are as smart and elegant as they are functional
  • Strong expertise in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent), FEA analysis, and mechanical simulation
  • Experience with thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics, applying engineering fundamentals to solve complex problems
  • A background in high-performance product development—whether in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or other advanced industries
  • Knowledge of scalable manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, injection molding, and precision fabrication
  • A relentless pursuit of excellence, with the ability to challenge conventional wisdom and push boundaries

Benefits
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Health Plans (Medical, Dental, and Vision), including HSA/FSA options
  • Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance, plus Critical Illness and Accident Insurance
  • Adoption Assistance, Caregiver Support, and Financial Assistance through Employee Support Programs
  • Team-building events and activities, including social hours and celebrations
  • Commuter Benefits

$100,000 - $140,000 a year

At Vessel, you’ll be part of something bigger than a company—you’ll be part of a movement. If you’re looking for a role that’s both challenging and rewarding, with the opportunity to work alongside a visionary leader in a transformative industry, we’d love to hear from you.
