Summer Intern, Environmental Health & Safety

Summary:

Vaxcyte’s Summer Internship program offers students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience that complements their college curriculum with relevant hands-on work that can shape their future career pathing and interests.  

Essential Functions:

As an Environmental Health & Safety Intern for Vaxcyte, you will be responsible for conducting office and laboratory inspections aimed at ensuring compliance. The Intern will learn the fundamentals of EH&S federal, state, and local regulations. In addition, the Intern will:     

• Capture and report metrics utilizing new software that has been recently implemented.   
• At the conclusion of the project, a report/presentation will be created, showing compliance improvement trends throughout the office and lab spaces.  

The Intern will learn and practice:  

• An understanding of the fundamentals of EH&S programs and regulatory compliance associated with each program.
• EH&S compliance regulations. 

Requirements: 

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (enrolled student with at least 1 year at university completed) with a focus on Environmental Science or related field. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.  
• Strong attention to detail and work quality.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork.   
• Enthusiastic - shows curiosity and is eager to learn.
