Integration Engineer I

Vast is looking for an Integration Engineer, reporting to the Integration Manager, to support the development of the systems required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, exempt position in our Long Beach location.

As an Integration Engineer, you will develop creative solutions to complex assembly and production problems. You will play a critical role in our development and production teams creating integration procedures and processes for efficient manufacturability. Your input will be vital in designing and developing new and existing hardware to support the mission.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the assembly and inspection procedures for the structural, propulsion and avionics assembly and integration of the Haven-1.
Ensure integration procedures are continuously evolving to reflect the most efficient assembly practices.
Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve complex integration issues.
Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a continuously evolving production environment.
Document and provide resolution to non-conformances and collaborate with the quality team to implement root cause corrective actions.
Identify, develop, plan and refine floor layout updates to maximize efficiency in the workflow of production hardware.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials or industrial engineering.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documents, and schematics.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience with CAD and able to spin a model and isolate various assemblies

Preferred Skills & Experience:

College Cubesat or similar program experience
Internships or Coops in Aerospace
Experience with the build, assembly, or testing of complex systems

Additional Requirements:

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones

Pay Range:

Integration Engineer: $84,000 - $109,000

Salary Range: California

$84,000—$109,000 USD
