About the Solutions Engineer role
The Solutions Engineer is a central expert role within Vaayu, working at the intersection of technology, sales, customer success and product development. The Solutions Engineer is a subject matter expert in our quickly growing impact driven-startup. The candidate will support the sales team during technical customer evaluations, assist the customers during the implementation process, and help the entire company in documenting technical details of the enterprise software platform for external audiences.
In this role, you will work closely with potential and existing enterprise customers to help them better understand Vaayu's technology and how it connects to their existing solutions, to support the client in reaching their sustainability mission. You will play a key role in the success of complex deals, request for proposal (RFP) submissions, and successful customer implementations. Ultimately, you will be contributing to improved environmental impact calculations, reductions and transparency.
A successful candidate is highly collaborative as they work in an intersection of multiple departments, have excellent communication skills as they will both present to and prepare materials for potential and existing customers, and enjoy working on solutions to complex problems as we are helping brands tackle one of the most important challenges of our lifetime.
This is a fully remote role based in Europe. The candidate will report to the Technology and the Business Development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer's technical requirements and provide sales support both before and during calls
- Deliver client-specific product demonstrations and answers to tech related questions
- Support the sales team in answering RFPs, IT questionnaires, and security documentation
- Provide hands-on support to the customer success team during customer onboarding and implementation phases
- Record technical requirements and relay feedback back to the product team
- Assist in creating both internal and external documentation and presentations
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a technical role, such as System or Infrastructure Administrator, Systems Engineer, or a similar role that required technical skills and understanding
- Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience working as a Solutions Engineer, preferably in a B2B software business
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. We are open to learning about expertise gathered with other methods than degrees as well
Preferred Skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional major European languages are considered a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively
- Ability to think strategically, assisting the team in meeting sales targets
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to write effective and clear technical documentation
- Passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to meaningful environmental impact
Nice to have
- Experience working within the environmental sustainability space in one way or another, including any relevant courses
- Experience from a high-growth SaaS company or a funded startup
- Exposure to AI technologies and their application in solving business problems
