SUMMARY: The Manager has twenty-four hour responsibility for management of their assigned service lines/areas such that the delivery of high quality patient care is assured and designated budgetary parameters are maintained.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This job has supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To qualify for the position, the candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing; currently licensed as an RN in the State of Maryland. Must meet all unit specific certification requirements: (BCLS, and service line requirements such as PALS, ACLS), Professional Certification preferred. Three to five years’ leadership/managerial experience preferred.
CONDITIONS: The new hire or transfer employee will remain within this job category for a probationary period of six months. With a satisfactory criteria based performance evaluation, the employee will advance to a regular status employee. If the evaluation is not satisfactory, the employee will be terminated.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to effectively speak English and hear for accurate communications using phones and face to face conversations. Able to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valued conclusion. Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, BSN required. Currently licensed as RN in state of Maryland. Current BCLS, certifications. Specialty nursing certification preferred.
