Job Description

The Associate Manager, NYC Enrollment plays a crucial role in supporting the enrollment process at Uncommon NYC. They are responsible for coordinating and executing various tasks related to student recruitment, outreach, and application management. The Associate Manager, NYC Enrollment will work closely with the Manager, NYC Enrollment and other team members to develop and implement recruitment strategies, cultivate community relationships, and ensure the visibility of the institution as an educational option. They also track the effectiveness of outreach efforts, manage family information sessions, and maintain accurate records of student applications. The Associate Manager, NYC Enrollment supports the overall enrollment goals and collaborates with stakeholders to streamline the enrollment process for prospective students.

Community Outreach: Lead all canvassing, tabling, and other recruitment efforts according to the NYC enrollment strategic plan.  

  • Cultivate and maintain a network of community relationships through regular meetings and communication to provide a pipeline to Uncommon NYC enrollment. 
  • Leverage community partners to identify and recruit students and ensure Uncommon NYC visibility as an educational option.
  • Maintain and build-on an active list of community partners to aid and support in outreach for future scholars to enroll in future school years. 

Family Outreach Management: Manage family information sessions. 

  • Track effectiveness of outreach efforts to make informed requests on recruitment strategy and funds with the support of manager.
  • Lead Conversion: Execute the strategy to effectively convert prospective families into enrolled students, ensuring a high conversion rate. 
  • Implement a comprehensive follow-up plan to engage and nurture leads, providing timely and relevant information to address inquiries and overcome potential barriers to enrollment. 
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to lead conversion. 

Recruitment and Enrollment: Assist the Director of School Support and Manager, NYC Regional Enrollment in the execution and management of recruitment strategy plans and targets, using data analysis to determine and respond to community and school needs for outreach and enrollment. 

  • Generate and cultivate leads and applications for prospective families. 
  • Post lottery manage a “warm” waitlist through strong communication and data-entry. 
  • Support in the preparations and execution of an annual lottery and related compliance. 

Student Application and Record Management: Collaborate with the Manager, NYC Regional Enrollment to manage all prospective student applications, enrollment paperwork, and prospective family communication following-up on missing pieces of information to submit applications. 

  •  Additional duties and projects as needed and assigned in support of NYC schools

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Experience Requirements:

  • 5-6 years of professional experience:
    • 3-4 years of directly related experience
    • 3 years in student enrollment/recruitment 
    • Outlook, Excel, Google Drive, SchoolMint, and Salesforce is a plus 

Schedule/Travel:

  • 4 days a week in the Brooklyn Regional Office and 1 day flexible
  • Local travel between schools and community based organizations and events within Brooklyn and NYC.

Compensation for this position:  Candidates who meet all job description requirements will likely receive an offer of $78,300. The starting compensation for this role is between $74,000 to $87,000.  The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.  To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience beyond the job description requirements.  Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
