About the Role

As the Director of Sales & Partner Success for Japan, you will lead our operations, driving both sales and partner success initiatives to achieve business objectives. This pivotal role requires strategic planning, effective team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to foster revenue growth and ensure exceptional partner satisfaction within the Japanese market. A key aspect of this role involves strengthening and expanding our partnership with Benesse, our exclusive partner in Japan.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive sales and partner success strategies tailored to the Japanese market, aligning regional objectives with global corporate goals.

  • Sales and Renewals Management: Lead the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets through effective planning, coaching, and performance management. Oversee the renewals process, ensuring high retention rates and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Accurately forecast sales and renewals to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Partner Success Oversight: Oversee the partner success team to ensure partners achieve their desired outcomes and derive maximum value from our products/services. Implement initiatives to enhance partner onboarding, product adoption, and overall satisfaction.

  • Partnership Development: Act as the primary liaison with Benesse, nurturing and expanding this strategic partnership to drive collaborative growth. Ensure their needs are met and proactively address any issues or concerns.

  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales and partner success professionals. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the teams.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and support teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and partner retention. Provide market feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies.

  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on sales, renewals, and partner success metrics to senior leadership.

 

What You'll Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Proven experience in a senior sales and/or partner success leadership role, preferably within the SaaS, e-learning, or technology sectors.

  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, managing renewals, and improving partner satisfaction metrics.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions, including accurate forecasting of sales and renewals.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant sales/partner success tools.

  • Fluency in Japanese and English.
