Position: Senior Backend Engineer

Location of the role: Germany / Spain / Romania (Remote)

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of the Customer Experience Platform (CXP) team and work directly with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to deliver new features, in the form of APIs and data services. You will have the chance to work with technologies such as FastApi, Kafka, Docker, or Kubernetes, to create new features, paying special attention to quality.

• Designing, building, and operating data-intensive backend services as a part of a seasoned data engineering team
• Participating in architectural decisions and technology management
• Taking responsibility for planning and designing software
• Engaging with our product team to understand our customers and deliver a great value for them
• Thinking forward and co-creating the vision for the future
• Supporting and mentoring others

• More than 10 years of total experience, with at least 4 years focused on backend development with Python web frameworks
• Solid understanding of Python 3
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database systems, preferably PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch
• Experience in developing scalable data-intensive Web APIs
• Experience with microservices architecture with  asynchronous communications with Kafka
• A DevOps mindset and a good knowledge of SRE tools and techniques
• Excellent teamwork skills, with clear communication, flexibility, openness to debate and challenge, and the ability to mentor other team members
• An agile mindset to deliver great products with an iterative approach
• Fluent in English

• Experience making architectural choices with detailed trade-off analysis
• A deep focus on automation for testing and deployment
• Strong alignment with business goals, with definition and measurement of relevant KPIs
• Previous experience with FastAPI
