QA Lead (Remote- US Based)

Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Lead to oversee multiple QA teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role will focus on test automation, team leadership, and collaboration across scrum teams, while contributing to the evolution of our automation frameworks and QA processes.

Responsibilities 

Technical Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead multiple QA teams across various scrum teams, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery of testing deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to QA Engineers and SDETs.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups.

Test Case Design and Execution

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Subject Matter Experts to gather requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Design and document clear, detailed, and comprehensive test cases covering all critical scenarios.
  • Execute both manual and automated tests as needed, with a primary focus on test automation (70% automation, 30% manual).

Automation Framework Development

  • Implement and maintain robust and scalable automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Webdriver.io, and programming languages like Java and TypeScript.
  • Evolve and enhance the existing automation framework, ensuring adaptability for new product requirements.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and advocate for best practices in software development and QA.

CI/CD Integration

  • Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline using GitLab and AWS to support seamless and automated testing.
  • Monitor test results and provide detailed reports highlighting defects and issues.

Strategic Goals and Continuous Improvement

  • Understand the product and its ecosystem, focusing on providing test coverage for key deliverables in each sprint.
  • Identify and address gaps in current QA and CI/CD processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and methodologies in QA and test automation.

Requirements 

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in implementing industry-standard testing methodologies and tools.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in building and evolving automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript; experience with Selenium and Webdriver.io.
  • Strong understanding of web applications, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP protocols.
  • Solid experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and related data formats.
  • Familiarity with AWS and GitLab for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience with Salesforce product development.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, particularly with distributed and offshore teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving and hands-on approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and estimating testing efforts.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems and testing tools for web and API platforms.
  • Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate global team collaboration during major product releases.

Key Metrics for Success

  • Delivery of test coverage for sprints across multiple scrum teams.
  • Improvement in automation framework efficiency and reliability.
  • Seamless integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Effective collaboration with offshore and onshore teams, meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Salary Range Disclosure

The base range represents the low and high end of the Togetherwork salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Togetherwork's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include discretionary bonuses, long term incentives, a flexible paid vacation/personal time policy, 6 weeks paid parental leave and more.

Salary Range

US Remote: $130,000 - $140,000 USD per year
