The Exterior Company (TEC) is a leading provider in the roofing and exterior solutions industry, known for delivering exceptional service and quality craftsmanship. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and oversee the operational functions that support a high-performing sales team.
Position Overview
The VP of Sales will play a pivotal role in shaping TEC’s future, combining strategic sales leadership with operational oversight to ensure scalability and efficiency. This individual will drive sales growth, optimize processes, and develop a results-driven team while maintaining TEC’s strong market presence and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Leadership
•Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
•Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, ensuring they have the tools and skills to succeed.
•Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics, providing coaching and feedback to maximize results.
•Identify opportunities for process improvements, training, and performance optimization.
•Maintain a strong understanding of sales systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Operational & General Management
•Oversee sales operations, including forecasting, budgeting, and pipeline management.
•Collaborate with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
•Develop and implement scalable processes and systems to support TEC’s continued growth.
•Work closely with project managers and inside sales coordinators to streamline workflows and enhance the customer experience.
•Support talent acquisition and retention by building and maintaining a high-performing sales team.
Customer & Market Expansion
•Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
•Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and improve TEC’s competitive positioning.
•Drive strategic partnerships and collaborations to expand TEC’s industry footprint.
Qualifications
•8+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth or startup environment. Ideal candidate would have roofing industry sales leadership experience.
•Strong operational acumen with a proven track record of driving process improvements and efficiency.
•Experience managing diverse sales teams, including inside sales, project managers, and outside sales teams.
•Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where adaptability is key.
•Strong financial and business acumen, with experience in P&L management preferred.
•Confident in independent decision-making and strategic execution to drive sales growth and operational success.
