KTVB, the TEGNA station, located in beautiful Boise, ID is seeking a Bilingual Content Producer to join our team. This candidate will work closely with our KTVB en Español team to grow and connect with the Hispanic news audience. The ideal person for the job is an expert translator, but also has a passion for news and writing, connecting with our diverse community, and a desire to grow as a multi-platform journalist. The position includes developing sources and creating original content for our Spanish-speaking audience on digital, social media, and streaming platforms.
This person will work with marketing and research to identify the best platforms to reach the audience and identify workflow best practices for the KTVB en Español team.
Responsibilities:
• Write stories in English and Spanish for on-air broadcast or KTVB digital platforms, including the KTVB en Español page on KTVB.COM
• Research and pitch story ideas
• Make calls to confirm news with reputable sources
• Post on KTVB’s social media accounts including editing and uploading social videos
• Clip and post video to KTVB.COM
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Experience in a local newsroom preferred
• Spanish and English fluency (writing and speaking) required
• Familiarity with all distribution platforms including digital content management systems, Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.
• Some multi-skilled journalist skills preferable (shooting, editing, storytelling, voice tracking, etc.)
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
• Ability to cultivate and develop working relationships with local newsmakers and their staff
• Knowledge of streaming technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is a plus
• Ability to write in both broadcast and AP style is a plus.
• Flexible with shift assignments
