That journey begins with applying for this 10-week, paid internship. Interns will be placed in one of our more than 40 newsrooms across the country.

  • Guided mentorship and support – You'll work alongside supportive colleagues who are dedicated to helping you reach your professional goals.
  • Paid Internship - Enjoy the advantage of a paid internship that values your contributions. The standard compensation rate is $15.00 per hour unless a higher state or local minimum wage overrides it. Notable exceptions include:
    • Denver, CO - $18.29 per hour
    • Sacramento, CA - $16.00 per hour
    • San Diego, CA - $16.85 per hour
    • Seattle, WA - $19.97 per hour

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with publishing platforms, current digital and social media technologies and SEO best practices
  • Prior experience in fact-checking, reporting, writing, and editing
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • You have strong organizational skills and the ability to work calmly under deadlines and in breaking news situations

Benefits:

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
