COMPANY OVERVIEW
We’ve built a successful, fast-growing company and need an amazing person to help the founder and executive team scale the business.
We are in the Personal Development business and our clients consist of entrepreneurs, small-business owners, real estate developers, marketers, and sales professionals.
We have an amazing culture that looks beyond just “the making of money”. Our mission is to help our clients create an amazing life (see more below), and our team puts an emphasis on who we are becoming as men, women, mother’s, father’s, and spouses.
This is a very unique position... a blend of an executive assistant with great people skills, an “implementer”, and a project manager who can help see critical tasks through to completion.
In other words, we’re looking for an awesome, “right-hand man/woman” for the executive team.

THE BIG PICTURE
Our goal is to fill this role with an amazing person we can work with for many years to come, providing you with a stable, fulfilling, and rewarding way for you to contribute your gifts to the world.
You’ll have an amazing opportunity to learn about advanced communication, marketing, personal growth, and leadership.
You’ll have an opportunity to meet and interact with some of the most successful and innovative people in the country… ....
Your start time? Immediately!
HERE IS THE TYPE OF PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR!
FAST, DETAILED, AND PRECISE. We need you to keep up the pace! You work on three different things at once because otherwise, you feel like you’re slacking off. You’re fast on your feet and can change direction on a dime if the situation dictates.
You’re willing to take control. We need somebody that is a little dictator. We do not want somebody that’s super sweet like, “Oh, gosh, I’d really like the TPS reports by Friday…” We need somebody that demands results and gets things done without coming off brash. Somebody who’s like “HEY! This is what I need. Get it to me by Thursday”… And then relentlessly follows up with that request until it’s done. You will be the overseer of order!
You have the memory of an ELEPHANT! The founder and executive team are constantly “on-stage”, working with clients, affiliates, vendors, and thought leaders, and it’s easy to let commitments fall through the cracks. Appointments. Meetings. Birthdays. Thank You’s, Follow-Up Calls. You will be our living, breathing, memory bank, and you’ll need to save one of us at least on a weekly basis.
You absolutely ADORE what you do. Your focus needs to be on getting the job done - not getting the job done before the whistle blows. Heck, there isn’t a whistle anyway. (We’re a family-owned business and teach our clients how to integrate work/life, so we really understand the importance of balance, HOWEVER, sometimes we need to finish something after everyone is asleep so we can push on our goals and deadlines... so you may also have to do the same). This will only happen on occasion - not all of the time or most of the time.
You can tolerate US! To be clear - We are great people: nice, generous, positive, but you also have to be able to deal with us giving you limited direction. We need to be able to tell you the objective with a limited amount of context, and then have you lay out a detailed plan on how you’ll tackle it, …and then it’s off to the races to get it done.
An athletic mindset – You are ready to put in the work and know how to get things when the ball is in your court! Our company’s motto is “Average Sucks”. You strive to live an above average life in all categories and want to be around others who do the same.
You have truly ASTOUNDING attention to detail. You need to take care of the details so the founder and executive team can get out of the weeds and focus on the BIG PICTURE to grow the business. We need to spend more time “ON” the business than “IN” the business.
We need you to be detailed to the point of being anal-retentive. Correspondence, emails, and schedules need to be spot-on every time. So, you must be uber-accurate with these and other details. You also HATE a messy desk or office.
You are a DIAMOND. Diamonds are created under pressure - and you’ll find yourself in plenty of situations where you need to be lightning fast, ultra-accurate, and absolutely perfect, all in a very, very short space of time.
Multitasking and organizational skills. You’ll be working on several different projects at once, so you need to thrive on turning chaos into order. You’re someone who can set priorities and get things done. You’re a master of follow-up & follow through. You leverage systems to ensure the next steps are taken, due dates are met, commitments are kept, and the trains keep running on time.
You can lay out a project in collaboration and project management tools like Slack and Asana to keep yourself and others organized, and so the team can see where we are at all times.
Top-notch teamwork, communication skills, and attitude. We’re a small, tight-knit team that runs like a well-oiled machine because everyone pulls together and has a great attitude. Negativity is eliminated with extreme prejudice.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Computer Literate: You MUST be VERY, VERY, VERY computer literate... Our business uses a lot of technology, which means you need to feel comfortable with computers, software, and the web. More details about this further down the page.
Windows or Mac? – We’re primarily an Apple shop, but this shouldn’t matter. You should be computer savvy enough to navigate your way around both Windows and Mac.
You LOVE checklists: Your first instinct the moment you have a project in your hand is to create a checklist. You love creating guidelines and spelling out processes in detail. You love organization and making sure that everything is exactly where it needs to be. The only thing you like better than writing a checklist on a fresh legal pad is creating a reusable checklist in your favorite task management or project management app.
Pleasing personality - you’ll be interacting with clients, customers, and various business partners. So, having a pleasing personality is a MUST. That means you’re outgoing and positive when you’re on the phone with people (just like me). And when you’re in a crowd- you can manage it. You’ve got to like people and be engaging. If you prefer to “observe” in a crowd, then you’re not the right person – our entire culture and mission is about communicating and connecting with people quickly and powerfully. (If you’re already good at this, we’ll make you great – but you need to be energized by people and building relationships.)
HERE’S A SMALL SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
EMAIL AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS: If you have an inbox overflowed with hundreds of unread emails then this position isn’t for you. You’re the first point of contact for the executive team, and you handle vendors and some customer service. A well-organized “inbox zero” with scheduled follow-ups and task reminders is your default state.
CALENDAR MANAGEMENT: You’re in charge of managing all speaking engagements and appointments for our CEO and “on-stage talent” Michael Bernoff, negotiating times, handling last minute changes and cancellations, and preparing all meeting info so Mr. Bernoff can focus on the purpose of the meeting. This includes the agenda, time zone, directions, meeting participant details, and any key background info.
SYSTEMS: Creating systems, checklists, workflows and templates: You’ll be figuring out how to do things effectively and then documenting those procedures. You will ensure that files get named according to our standard naming convention and filed in the proper location in our online storage.
PERSONAL ITEMS: You’ll assist Mr. Bernoff and other executives with personal items. The foundation of our business is personal connections and relationships, so naturally the executive team’s personal life is an extension of the business. You’ll help book all travel and vacation plans, schedule handymen and deliveries, coordinate parent-teacher conference, etc. Your job is to integrate the personal and business calendars for Mr. Bernoff, and handle all the small details so Mr. Bernoff and the team can focus on making a positive change in people’s lives.
AFFILIATE RELATIONSHIPS: Assist in building relationships with potential and current partners. As one of the preeminent experts on influence and communication, Mr. Bernoff meets and connects with a dizzying number of well-connected and influential business leaders, industry titans, politicians, and celebrities. After he connects at an event or speaking engagement, it’s your job to help him work through the list of “people to contact” to reinforce the connection, nurture the relationship, and develop affiliate relationships where applicable.
You’ll be a part of the business and personal life of Mr. Bernoff and the executive team. We’ll rely on you to stay on top of the details and keep things moving as we work to build the business. You’ll quickly become an incredibly important person in the organization (and our lives). Naturally, trust is incredibly important.
Finally, even with all of the details I’ve shared about, I’m really looking for someone who thinks methodically and strategically, and who can identify ways for the company and team to become more effective and productive. (We don’t care about hierarchy and titles, if you’ve got a good idea, we’ll take it.)
LOCATION
Location matters - the closer to Scottsdale, AZ the better, ideally within a 30 minute commute.
