Senior Software Engineer - Java

At Squarespace, our backend engineers work on Product Engineering teams, which are dedicated to creating the most seamless, integrated products possible. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Product Engineering Team Lead.

We are hiring for the following product team(s):

• Websites Content: This team is responsible for advancing how our customers manage, populate, and create content for their Squarespace websites. We have historically built systems that allow users to intuitively upload and organize images and videos, and we are looking to the future by exploring new ways by which users can generate content using generative AI applications.

You'll Get To…

• Practice disciplined software engineering, writing server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and developing prototypes quickly.
• You will lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.

Who We're Looking For

• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
