Principal Software Engineer: Creator Services Platform

The Creator Services Platform team is responsible for the public web, HTTP API surface of Roblox. We provide the basis for community developers to automate and build upon our platform. To achieve this, we operate the internal systems for product teams at Roblox to expose their APIs, authorize access to them, publish docs, and communicate with users. As a Principal Software Engineer, you would be reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager of Creator Services. 

We’re solving the challenge of building a great API for the whole of Roblox while balancing interesting tradeoffs on stability vs. availability.

• Architect the future of our systems - authorization, documentation, client bindings, automatic smoke testing

You Have:

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in building complex, cross-team systems that impact millions of users' lives. 2+ years of experience in a ‘tech lead’ role as an independent contributor.
• Experience understanding and shaping the goals for any feature you build - ultimately generating value for yourself and Roblox as a Builder.
• No fear of jumping into unfamiliar codebases and areas to get stuff done and achieve product goals.

• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, IAM (identity and access management) etc.
• A strong grasp of HTTP fundamentals
• A solid understanding of web security - e.g. CORS, CSP, same origin policy, OWASP top 10, etc.
