Function Description: Risant Health’s Value-based Platform (VBP) Product Management, led by the VBP Head of Product, shapes the VBP solution portfolio strategy in collaboration with Risant Health's Business and Clinical leadership. Reporting to the VBP Business Lead, the VBP Head of Product oversees the development and lifecycle management of the VBP enterprise solution portfolio.

This role ensures that Risant Health solutions, including products and services, achieve the following:

  • Address VBP customer, clinician, and consumer needs through platform value solutions.
  • Meet business goals and outcomes set by Risant Health, including VBP ‘North Star Metrics’.
  • Provide Risant Health with a competitive edge in the US health market by delivering top-tier value-based care.

Position Summary: The Product Owner will lead the implementation of a dynamic care guideline tool, working closely with clinicians to understand and represent user needs. This role includes guiding the content creation process, overseeing technical development, and managing product launches and strategy. The Risant Product Owner will build strong relationships with clinical, technical, and leadership stakeholders across various organizations, ensuring alignment and supporting the delivery of value-based care for patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Development:

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Collaborates with stakeholders to define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with business goals and customer needs.
    • Translates vision into Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for prioritization and value matrix planning.
    • Supports product roadmap definition and management, prioritizing initiatives based on market needs, stakeholder feedback, and business impact.
  • Backlog Management: Maintains and prioritizes the product backlog with a Product Manager, ensuring it reflects customer priorities, business goals, and technical dependencies.
    • Defines user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
    • Creates dependencies and links predecessors and successors.
    • Articulates backlog value and addresses dysfunctional backlog management.
    • Familiar with backlog management tools like Jira or Jira Align.
  • Feature Prioritization: Works with stakeholders to prioritize features based on customer feedback, research, business value, and technical feasibility.
    • Makes trade-off decisions with product and design leadership.
    • Uses prioritization frameworks like DVF.
    • Manages conflicting priorities among business teams.
  • Requirements Definition: Gathers and analyzes user requirements, feedback, and data to define clear product requirements.
    • Documents features, epics, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
    • Reviews wireframes and prototypes.
    • Maps dependencies and updates the product roadmap.
    • Reviews test cases for user stories.
  • Sprint Planning and Execution: Participates in sprint planning to prioritize and commit to user stories.
    • Clarifies requirements and provides feedback to development and test teams.
    • Summarizes work goals and demonstrates the importance of sprint planning.
  • Product Demonstration and Feedback: Reviews and provides feedback on completed product stories.
    • Solicits stakeholder and end-user feedback.
    • Participates in team retrospectives.
  • User Experience and Design: Champions UX design principles and best practices.
    • Works with designers to create user-friendly interfaces and experiences.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, acting as a bridge between stakeholders and development teams.
    • Serves as a point of contact for program management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
    • Communicates product plans, progress, and milestones.
    • Manages approvals, escalations, production sign-offs, and defect management.

Performance Management and Improvement

  • Product Performance Monitoring: Analyzes data, customer insights, and market trends for product optimization.
    • Reviews data and insights reports.
    • Partners with reporting and insights teams to track product impact.
    • Makes data-driven decisions.

Product Marketing

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Supports go-to-market strategies for new VBP solution launches and feature releases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • BA Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Social Science, or related field OR 4 years directly related experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in Agile software development/ delivery environments.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working with agile teams, including familiarity with scrum ceremonies and agile best practices
  • Certifications in product management or Agile methodologies

Preferred

  • Experience working within the healthcare multipayer/ multiprovider environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), with the ability to influence, engage, and build consensus among stakeholders and team members at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with a track record of using data to drive product decisions and improvements.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in developing and executing product roadmaps, with a focus on user experience and clinical outcomes.
  • Experience working in healthcare, in multipayer, multiprovider ecosystems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with product management tools, collaboration platforms, and Agile project management software.
  • Experience drafting KPI’s and building prioritization frameworks.
  • Prior experience delivering product in roles as a Product Analyst or Business Analyst.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product rules.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). Strong executive presence.
  • Strong collaboration skills and can-do attitude.
  • Advanced understanding of Agile development methodologies and product management best practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFE).
  • Experience leading and working with inter-disciplinary teams and managing stakeholder relationships in a complex environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, product management software, and collaboration platforms (Jira, Figma, Mural, Miro, Confluence, test flight).
  • Passion for innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Certifications in product management or Agile methodologies (e.g., APM, PO/PM, SAFE).
  • Ability to work closely with testing teams.
  • Experience with the user acceptance testing (UAT) process.

Additional Information

  • All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
  • This position has a preliminary projected target base salary of $108,730 to $144,100, which is subject to change as additional market data is acquired. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive wellness, time off, savings and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees at Risant Health.
