Student Intern

RESPEC seeks a temporary part-time mining engineering student intern located in our Reno, NV location.

The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer with an option to work an average of 10 to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.

Primary activities include pit optimizations, mine and waste rock facilities design, mine scheduling and cost analysis. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff in these areas. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Must be working toward a bachelor of science or advanced degree in geological, mechanical, mining, civil engineering, or related field
• Strong computer skills, especially in using finite element software, spreadsheets and structural analysis software are required 

Excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally, and be self-motivated.

Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, range is $20-25/hour, plus statutory insurance requirements.
