Business Developer – Financial Services
Overview We are seeking a results-driven Business Developer to expand our reach within the financial services industry. This role involves identifying and engaging potential clients, building long-term relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. The position is fully remote, based in South Africa, and follows UK working hours (Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM).
Salary: Basic R25,000 per month, excluding commission.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and target potential clients in financial services, including asset management firms, investment banks, fintech startups, and wealth management firms.
- Research market trends and client needs to tailor outreach strategies.
Sales & Client Acquisition
- Conduct cold calls, emails, and meetings to engage decision-makers.
- Develop compelling sales pitches and proposals to present our financial services.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality prospects.
Relationship Management & Growth
- Nurture and develop long-term client relationships.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored financial solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
Market & Industry Analysis
- Stay up to date with financial market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
- Identify emerging opportunities within the sector.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and finance teams to align strategies.
- Maintain CRM records, track KPIs, and provide reports on business development activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and fintech innovations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and leverage relationships within the financial industry.
- Analytical mindset to assess market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, financial platforms, and digital marketing strategies is a plus.
- Professional phone presence with a well-spoken and well-presented manner.
- Experience working with boutique clientele in the higher-end salary bracket within the finance sector.
