The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The Global Brand Strategy & Insights sits within GABM. We are responsible for defining & accelerating the Brand strategy, delivering the strategic plan for GABM, overseeing and monitoring execution of the Brand guidelines globally and delivering customer insights and elevating tools and learnings for the global Marketing community.

We are seeking a Vice President, US Product & Marketing Insights to deliver insights that drive strategy, influence decisions and create a deeper connection with the customer as well as help to create a vision where technology shapes the future of insights at American Express.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Lead a team of 4 direct reports (15 total colleagues) responsible for delivering insights to US BU and enterprise partners to increase marketing effectiveness and develop products that meet needs of emerging customers
• Create an insights roadmap while considering the research needs of business partners across the enterprise
• Build relationships with key marketing and product leaders across the BUs and enterprise serving as key customer insights and marketing research contact
• Prioritize product and marketing insights requests across team to deliver insights that are essential to the business
• Serve as leader for network of insights professionals across the enterprise, providing thought leadership, and driving common and best practices
• An understand of operational excellence and compliance at Amex, specifically as it pertains to research

Qualifications:
• Proven experience growing, building and leading a senior team, including agency partners
• High energy, strategic thinker with demonstrably impact on meaningful commercial outcomes
• Deep experience presenting to executive level audiences and an ability to work with SVP+ partners
• Strong analytical skills with ability to architect research programs, interpret data, story tell and understand results drivers
• High intellect and excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with strong business acumen and general pragmatism
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional ability to inspire action
• Ability to efficiently prioritize, solve problems independently, and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Influencing, partnering and negotiating skills with senior stakeholders (i.e. BU VP, SVP, EVP) across AMEX
• Ability to work with ambiguity and make connections on key strategic priorities across lines of business
• High energy, proactive instinct.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
