Vice President of Business Development – New Vertical, Residential Sales Industry
Position Summary
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for leading the organization’s new vertical/business growth and operations strategy by identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue through expanding client relationships. This individual will develop and execute a pipeline of new business prospects while working cross-functionally to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
Key Responsibilities
• New Vertical Strategy Development:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and profitability through new verticals.
• Identify new market opportunities or customer verticals, and strategic partnerships.
• Establish sales targets, quotas, and KPIs in alignment with organizational goals.
• Revenue Growth and Forecasting:
• Drive sales performance to meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
• Manage sales forecasting and pipeline, ensuring accurate and timely projections.
• Use data analytics to monitor and adjust sales strategies to maximize performance and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Customer Relationship Management:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Serve as an escalation point for customer issues, working with the sales and customer service teams to address challenges effectively.
• Oversee Daily Operations:
• Ensure smooth workflows across all functions.
• Manage revenue and profit targets to ensure targets are achieved.
• Analyze business performance and market trends to identify opportunities.
• Identify risks and develop action plans to mitigate operational challenges.
• Collaboration with Internal Teams:
• Work closely with team to ensure alignment and collaboration on customer items.
• Market and Competitor Analysis:
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
• Provide insights to the executive team on market conditions, potential risks, and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
• Experience: 8+ years of business development, sales, operations and/or strategy experience.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in residential sales industry or related field is preferred.
• Skills:
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding targets in a competitive environment.
• Proven track record of building new business segments/markets, building partnerships and closing strategic deals.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to build rapport with customers and partners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
