About the position
The Senior Manager of Finance for Research & Innovation (R&I) at L’Oréal plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s R&I transformation, particularly in the Hair Métier. This position is responsible for providing financial leadership, driving value creation, and ensuring the financial health of the R&I P&L and balance sheet. The role involves strategic decision-making, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder management, all aimed at maximizing ROI and contributing to L’Oréal’s overall innovation strategy.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the monthly financial close process for the R&I department, including preparing journal entries and performing variance analysis.

• Collaborate with local and global métiers to develop accurate budgets and forecasts aligned with the R&I transformation roadmap.

• Identify and analyze opportunities for value creation within the R&I transformation.
,
• Partner with local and global métiers to assess financial risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies as needed.

• Maintain a clean and accurate Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GRIR) balance by resolving discrepancies and managing outstanding purchase orders.

• Provide mentorship and training to management trainees and interns in the department.

• Lead and participate in strategic financial projects to enhance the efficiency and value creation potential of the R&I department.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
,
• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
,
• Proven track record of success in a financial management role, preferably within the consumer goods or beauty industry.
,
• Deep understanding of financial reporting principles and practices.
,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
,
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
,
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAP, and PowerBI.
,
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
