Job Description Job Summary S&S Sourcing Engineer supports and implements overall Rockwell Strategic Sourcing strategy. Achieve year-on-year improvements by building local, regional and global supply chain projects. Collaborate with partners to agree on our requirements and implement sourcing and commodity strategies. Develop/implement Solutions & Services commodity strategy and work with procurement team and project teams to provide project life cycle engagement on 3rd Party materials and services supply for project purpose in a cost effective and timely manner. Be an technical interface between suppliers and Departments and Engineering, specifically on alternate sourcing, alternate material/process development and quality issues resolution. Develop supplier development programmes. Your Responsibilities: Commodity Management Contribute to and implement sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with regional commodity leads. Collaborate with partners (global Sourcing team, Engineering, Operations, Departments, and Quality) in implementing these strategies. Participate and support Global Commodity Leads in managing global commodities. Develop Services & Solutions Commodity strategy and manage regional commodities in Asia Pacific Support regional Services & Solutions Commodity leads to implement commodity tactics in the region. Source and qualify new suppliers especially in Best-Cost-Country (BCC) in line with Rockwell commodities strategy with in India Supplier Base. Improve quality, delivery and cost to meet SSO and business targets and programs. Stay informed about design, product and market requirements from Departments and in turn share market and suppliers’ developments. Business Engagement Understand business strategy and engage partners to align sourcing strategy and put into execution collaboratively. Implement and improve engagement process to focus on important touchpoints to work with pre-sales team to guide cost avoidance on 3rd party materials and services Supplier Management and Development Assess suppliers’ technical competencies and capabilities – match suppliers’ strength to Rockwell technical & quality requirements and influence BU/Engineering on suppliers’ selection. Understand and establish supply chain requirements e.g. production vs delivery lotsize, production vs delivery leadtime) with suppliers to meet Rockwell operational requirements Develop supplier development programs (e.g. leadtime reduction, process improvement). Track and implement action plans to improve Strategic Sourcing Measurements (KPI) and support manufacturing locations regionally and globally. Participate with Commodity Leads in business reviews with strategic and critical suppliers involving relevant partners. Attract, Develop, and Retain Talent. Review and explore development opportunities. Facilitate information sharing to global commodity team and and partners to enhance collaboration and adoption of best-practices. Continuous Improvements. Review supply base ;source new and potential suppliers specifically in BCC (India) to support the our requirements. Identify strategic sourcing best practices and guide these best practices into the Rockwell strategic sourcing toolkit and sourcing strategies. Familiarity with Company Procedures. Apply procedures in compliance with government laws. Procedures include: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation information network. The Essentials – You Will Have: Have Engineering degree, exposure on Supplier Quality Engineering will have an added advantage. Experience in engineering to order business is required. Experience and success in achieving net deflation and productivity is required. Experience in project management required. Experience developing and managing the sourcing preferably in both multi-site management responsibility and multi-commodity responsibility. Sourcing experience within India is required. Travel: up to 30~50% (domestic India & regional Asia-Pacific) Source Engineer positions, minimum 5 years’ experience in Sourcing on the Direct Commodities listed or related. You will be report to Team Lead Sr Sourcing Engineer COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS Functional Broad knowledge and exposure in managing direct material commodities (e.g. machined parts, Plastic injection moulding, cable assemblies, Metal Fab / Stamping, Casting, Bus bar, Packaging) Have well-rounded knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing and operational procurement. Exposure in high-mix low-volume (HMLV) environment. Proved track record as a competent technical interface in engaging suppliers and Engineering. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing in production environment and experience in implementing Kanban/Consignment systems. Interpersonal Good experience on at local, regional and global levels. Good experience collaborating with teams (Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Departments). Appreciate cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries and time zones Understand and appreciate internal and external customers.
