Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Medical Director to oversee physician management and medical care for its health plan products.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide management and oversight for physicians to coordinate member care related to medical, behavioral health, and pharmacy needs
• Develop and implement clinical policies, goals, and objectives while managing health plan medical costs
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective health care delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
• 15 or more years of clinical practice in medicine
• 5 years of experience as an HMO Health Plan Medical Director
• Unrestricted California Physicians and Surgeons License
• Strong clinical background and understanding of utilization management and quality assurance activities
