Project Manager (Scrum Master)

Role Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join McGraw Hill’s Digital Platform Group (DPG) as a key contributor to the Connect platform. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and tracking projects, collaborating with technical product management, engineering, and business teams.Responsibilities:Serve as a Scrum Master for two agile teams, ensuring valuable outcomes and driving continuous team improvement.Act as a champion for agile methodologies throughout the development process, adhering to the MHE SDLC.Facilitate the delivery of projects by ensuring teams meet commitments on time and with quality.Create project plans spanning multiple teams, manage dependencies, and ensure adherence to the DPG SDLC.Own and manage communication plans, ensuring transparency, buy-in on key decisions, and proactive issue resolution.Coordinate the successful release of projects in line with the DPG SDLC and serve as the release manager for scrum teams.Prioritize customer support appropriately, ensuring SLAs are honored.Must-Have Skills:Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience as a Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master.Bachelor’s degree in Business, I.T., Computer Science, or a related field.Mix role with 70% Scrum Master and 30% Project Manager responsibilities.Experience coaching and managing Agile teams from scratch.Proven track record in implementing concurrent technology projects.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Strong analytical skills.Excellent time management and prioritization skills.Nice-to-Have:Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.Desired Attributes:In-depth knowledge of software development; Ed Tech experience is a plus.Agile project management experience, specifically as a Scrum Master.Experience managing dependencies and project plans.Self-motivated and well-organized, able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.Collaborative communication style, fostering efficient idea flow and building consensus.Flexible and adaptable to tools and ways of working.Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, conflict management, collaboration, organizational, and critical thinking skills.Growth mindset, adaptable, and open to change, with a passion for continuous improvement.Positive attitude; cross-disciplinary understanding of product management and software development is a plus.Capability to influence in a matrix structure where authority may lie elsewhere.Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Slack is advantageous.
