Principal Engineering Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Engineering Manager, API Gateway.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and roadmap for the API Gateway, ensuring alignment with product scale and AI strategy
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver a secure, extensible, and intelligent gateway platform

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a track record of delivering large-scale platform services
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams or driving complex technical initiatives
• Deep experience with designing and operating high-availability API gateways or reverse proxies
• Expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies such as Istio and Envoy
• Strong backend engineering skills in C#, Java, Go, or Rust, with experience in API design and performance tuning
