Mainframe Software Support Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Software Technical Support Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for Mainframe Software products, resolving customer issues efficiently
  • Act as a first-level interface with customers, analyzing documentation and recreating errors as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and engage Sustaining Engineering for complex problem resolution
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience in a Mainframe environment
  • Experience with z/VM Operating System and Mainframe Architecture
  • Knowledge of Assembler language and experience with automation scripts
  • Familiarity with IBM's VMSES/E and guest operating systems supported by z/VM
