Inpatient Coding Compliance Coordinator

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Compliance Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist coders and documentation management staff with complex patient care cases by analyzing documentation and discussing code assignment
  • Review medical records flagged for coding errors and identify opportunities for education
  • Serve as a technical expert for department staff and external customers regarding coding standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Health Information Management program
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in medical coding
  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • 6+ years of medical coding experience
