Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder IV, Inpatient (Remote).

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze physician/provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures for Inpatient health records
  • Utilize encoder software to assign appropriate coding and indicators for accurate hospital reimbursement
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve billing and claims issues affecting reimbursement
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program or an Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required
  • Three years of current acute care or Inpatient coding experience is required
  • Proficiency in utilizing encoding/grouping software and Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and coding regulations is essential
