Idaho Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an RN Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns codes based on documentation to obtain a working DRG
• Analyzes medical records to identify gaps in documentation and composes queries to providers
• Participates in ongoing education of clinicians regarding clinical documentation improvement concepts

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program; must have or be pending RN licensure in Idaho
• Minimum of 3 years' patient-facing RN experience; ADN or diploma required, BSN preferred
• Must enroll in a baccalaureate degree program in nursing within 1 year if not a BSN
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care clinical experience, preferably in ED, critical care, and cardiology
• Current certification in CDIP or CCDS preferred, or willingness to obtain after 2 years of CDI experience
