About the position

The HR Services Coordinator (HRA1) position at the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is a vital role that supports the agency’s mission to provide and protect outstanding natural, scenic, cultural, historic, and recreational sites. As part of the HR team, the coordinator will play a crucial role in connecting millions of visitors with Oregon’s state parks, ensuring that the agency’s human resources functions are executed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the HR Services Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include administering the agency’s Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) programs, providing consultative assistance to managers and employees regarding personnel rules and protected leave, and assisting with seasonal and permanent recruitments. The coordinator will also be tasked with processing incoming employee personnel actions, verifying information for accuracy and compliance, and running various personnel reports to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with regulations. The position requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. The HR Services Coordinator will work closely with HR team members to develop and redesign processes and tools that enhance service delivery to OPRD staff. Responsibilities
• Collaborate with HR team members to support OPRD leadership and line staff.

• Administer the agency’s FMLA/OFLA programs.
,
• Communicate claim and entitlement information regarding FMLA/OFLA effectively.
,
• Provide consultative assistance to managers and employees on personnel rules and protected leave.
,
• Assist with seasonal and permanent recruitments, hiring, and terminations.
,
• Process incoming employee personnel actions and verify information for accuracy and compliance.
,
• Monitor and update personnel data in the HRIS (Workday) system.
,
• Run, review, and audit personnel reports to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance.
,
• Assist in the development and redesign of HR processes, procedures, or tools for efficient service delivery.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Business or Public Administration, Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations, or a related field; OR valid certification as a Professional in Human Resource with one year of HR experience; OR three years of HR paraprofessional or technical-level experience.

• Valid driver’s license at the time of hire and throughout employment.

• Criminal records and driving records check that meets OPRD criteria.
