Codes and abstracts medical records with a minimum of 95% accuracy, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS/CPT-4 HCPCS codes
Manages additional coding responsibilities, resolving coding edits and ensuring timely completion of assigned work
Serves as a mentor to new coders and assists with various coding tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
High School Education or GED required, along with completed anatomy and physiology courses
Minimum of 7 years of acute care inpatient and/or IVR coding experience
Demonstrated maintenance of 95% or higher accuracy in coding and DRG assignment
Ability to work in a remote environment with computer/data entry experience
Preferred certifications include Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Professional Coder, and Registered Health Information Administrator or Technician
