Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder 3.

Key Responsibilities
  • Codes and abstracts medical records with a minimum of 95% accuracy, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS/CPT-4 HCPCS codes
  • Manages additional coding responsibilities, resolving coding edits and ensuring timely completion of assigned work
  • Serves as a mentor to new coders and assists with various coding tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
  • High School Education or GED required, along with completed anatomy and physiology courses
  • Minimum of 7 years of acute care inpatient and/or IVR coding experience
  • Demonstrated maintenance of 95% or higher accuracy in coding and DRG assignment
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with computer/data entry experience
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Professional Coder, and Registered Health Information Administrator or Technician
