About the position
The Food Bank Assistant position at Voice Up Publishing Inc. is a temporary, part-time role focused on addressing food insecurity among college students. This remote internship allows individuals to engage in meaningful outreach, grant writing, and community resource development while gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities
• Research and document food insecurity challenges facing college students in urban environments, including collecting data on local food accessibility, analyzing current support systems, and identifying service gaps.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of food security resources, assistance programs, and support services available to college students in the target area.

• Create educational content and awareness materials about food insecurity, including social media posts, blog articles, and informational guides for student populations.

• Assist in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, including researching potential funders, drafting proposals, and maintaining grant application calendars.

• Support fundraising initiatives by developing campaign materials, coordinating virtual events, and engaging with potential donors, college students, and community partners.
Requirements
• Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a college/university program

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with research and data analysis

• Basic understanding of grant writing and fundraising principles (training will be provided)
