Abstract, code, sequence, and interpret clinical information from various medical records
Assign correct principal and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes with accurate sequencing
Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements while ensuring confidentiality of patient records
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a large acute care facility with at least 700 beds
Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
Experience with Cerner and a CAC, preferably Optum eCAC
Ability to work 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 5am and 9pm EST
