FHA VA Government Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (West Coast) with experience in FHA and VA loans.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite various loan types including FHA, VA, Conventional, Bond, USDA, Renovation, and Construction
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan status and maintain accurate documentation
• Assist in training other mortgage positions and lead underwriting resources and credit policy execution within the team

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of government underwriting experience
• Valid DE and/or LAPP/SAR designations to underwrite FHA and VA loans
• Recent frontline underwriting experience within the last 12 to 18 months
• Experience with DU and LP systems, including documentation and interpretation
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
