About the position

The Director of Project Management at American Express will lead the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) within American Express National Bank. This role is crucial for strengthening project governance and execution across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. The director will oversee high-priority initiatives, build and lead project teams, and implement frameworks that drive significant results while fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities
• Identify, build, develop, and lead the right team to establish sound project management execution.

• Lead high priority cross-functional initiatives impacting multiple business units.

• Collaborate meaningfully and strategically with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and ensure strategic alignment.

• Design and implement execution frameworks for business problems and turn them into concrete projects.

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed project plans to manage projects effectively.

• Prepare and lead efficient presentations and materials, breaking down complex ideas into actionable messages.

• Play a lead role in the standup of the EPMO and execution of the Enterprise Project Governance process.

• Cultivate a best-in-class and growth mindset culture through team building and engagement activities.

Requirements
• 6+ years of experience in risk management, strategy and execution, program management, project management, or consulting services.

• Project management skills with attention to detail and ability to drive project progress.
,
• Superlative communication skills to influence and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
,
• Ability to manage deadlines and handle changing priorities under pressure.
,
• Experience delivering large, complex, enterprise-level initiatives with multiple partners.
,
• Problem-solving ability with creativity and positivity.
,
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; Master’s Degree considered favorably.
