About the position
The Bulk Delivery Driver is a crucial role within our organization, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of diesel-powered tractor-trailers. This position involves transporting and delivering products or materials in packaged or palletized form to and from customer locations, primarily within local and regional distances. The driver must adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company policies to ensure compliance and safety during operations. The work schedule typically starts at 6:00 PM and continues until completion, with alternating days off. In this role, the driver will perform a variety of tasks including unloading pallets at customer accounts, repositioning empty and loaded trailers, and interacting with customers and the sales team to provide excellent service. The driver is expected to conduct pre-shift activities to prepare for the day, including reviewing work schedules and checking equipment and supplies. Daily inspections of the truck and trailers are mandatory to ensure safe operation, and the driver must maintain accurate records of hours of service using an electronic log. The Bulk Delivery Driver will also be responsible for loading and securing cargo, maintaining seal control, and effectively planning trips using maps and GPS. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate pallet jacks, and perform post-shift activities such as coupling and uncoupling trucks, as well as refueling the vehicle. Responsibilities
• Safely operate diesel-powered tractor-trailers to transport and deliver products or materials.

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the truck and trailers.

• Check and complete required paperwork associated with freight, obtaining necessary signatures.

• Effectively plan trips using maps, GPS, and other information to ensure timely deliveries.

• Record daily hours of service using an electronic log in compliance with FMCSA regulations.

• Load and secure cargo within the trailer to prevent movement and damage.

• Maintain seal control as required during transport.

• Read and comprehend trip-related information to plan effectively for deliveries.

• Load and unload freight at customer locations using electric pallet jacks or manually.

• Perform post-shift activities including coupling and uncoupling trucks and securing equipment.
Requirements
• Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the position and FMCSA regulations.

• Must obtain and maintain a valid FMCSA physical certification within 60 days of entry into the position.
,
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL for Interstate driving within 60 days of entry into the position.

• Two years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.

• Sales experience preferred.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and use a pallet jack.

• Capable of safely climbing on and off the vehicle and operating loading gear.
