Job Summary

A company is looking for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' educational needs and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments, including braille instruction and assistive technology
  • Provide virtual instruction and support through both synchronous and asynchronous learning platforms
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education
  • Active Connecticut certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired required
  • Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, including proficiency in braille instruction
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation for students with visual impairments
  • Comfortable using technology for instruction and communication (Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.)
