Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Records Coder Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately codes and sequences all diagnoses and procedures in outpatient medical records
  • Utilizes Computer Assisted Coding software and follows assigned workflows
  • Issues coding queries and assists with documentation clarification as needed
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education:
  • Associate Degree in Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Bachelor Degree in Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required
  • 2-3 years of Acute Care Hospital Outpatient Coding experience required
  • Knowledge of APC/EAPG required
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
  • Experience with 3M Encoder, Cerner, Meditech, or Optum System preferred
