Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder (Facility ED).

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate clinical and demographic information from medical records for accurate code selection
  • Select CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 codes with correct sequencing to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement
  • Investigate and resolve coding-related issues, including system edits and insurance denials


Required Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) license required; RHIT or RHIA accepted
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional or facility coding experience
  • Must remain current on coding guidelines and complete mandatory continuing education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
